Before you is "Mukei sesshoku," a striking glass sculpture created in 2017 by Kano Tomohiro. The piece is part of his "Amorphous" series, where he explores the fluidity and structure of glass. You'll notice vibrant layers of color fused into a unified, flowing shape. This work is made entirely of cast and polished colored glass, with no additional materials—something Kano developed as a unique alternative to traditional methods.
The sculpture is presented in a paulownia wood storage box, signed by the artist. Kano's process involves placing pieces of glass into blown-glass molds and firing them in a kiln, which creates dynamic, unified forms. Inspired by artists like Henry Moore and Jean Arp, this piece captures the essence of stars through material and form.
