About this artwork

This is “Group at the Houses of Parliament.” In a tiny platinum print, the camera caught three figures from the Jejeebhoy family: Sir Jamsetjee Manockjee Cursetjee Jejeebhoy, 4th Baronet, standing beside his daughter Miss Jejeebhoy and his son, Sir Rustomjee Cowasjee Cursetjee Jejeebhoy, 5th Baronet. Notice the subtle shadows on their hats and the quiet background that suggests a London hall. The image measures just 8 by 6 1⁄8 inches, a snapshot taken in July 1902 by Sir John Benjamin Stone – an MP who turned his office into a studio to photograph every parliamentarian and visitor, including these Parsee dignitaries on their way to the coronation of King Edward VII.
